Following closely behind the Golmud Solar Park is India’s Bhadla Solar Park. This massive facility sits on 14,000 acres in the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, India. Recent upgrades have raised the facility’s total capacity to 2.7GW.

The Largest Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)

A collaborative project between ESG-conscious investment firm BlackRock, Akaysha Energy, and the Oregon-based Powin, the Waratah Super Battery (WSB) project will be the largest BESS in the world. 

The project is expected to be completed in 2025 and will provide support for the rapidly expanding solar infrastructure in New South Wales, Australia.
